First Friday is ground zero, we shall be there!

We need to email the downtown project, and either attend or contact all sustainability and entreprenuerial groups via meetup.com

The Student Involvement fair for UNLV is Sep. 4th-
Volunteers include Kaleb, Kelly, and Rober. (We coud use more)

The William S. Boyd Law school Economic Justice Festival is Sep. 19 & 20.

UNLV: We need to see where we would need to get permits for a UNLV Kiosk, see if we could get access to Certified Kitchens, Woodshops, and other Tool.

We need to email Greenspun College, Business College, and the Law School. As well as any other college that would fall into our field of work.

MEET WITH FACULTY SOON! Creation of a Faculty Committee(Sp?) is pertinent. The sooner the better.

USDA grants - Grants at school<-- Need to research and apply for them.



Logo Design Contest due on AUG 14th.

We should get in contact with Visual Arts and Videography volunteers.

Seek assistance through various avenues of business and urban affairs,

2)We need an 11sec wrap for the Food Hub:
Ideas: Link between regional buyers farm/ranch & keep more retail
food recirculating in the local economy. (Use this general Idea for working on it)
Worker Cooperative Food Hub supporting the LV economy
by connecting locally organic growers to the LV community.

3) Talked about the compatibility with yayos.

TO DO:
1) We'll be having a Logo Contest w/ a deadline for Aug. 14 (Which is Shannon's BDAY!)
We shall celebrate that day and make it a memorable occasion.
2) Our Deadline to prepare for the coming school year with LVWORCS student group
will be AUG 6. UNLV is the source of our present resources, Lets master it.
3) UNLV student government and Faculty we need to meet and get in contact with, Lets get our food hub rap straight.
4) Faculty Outreach: We need to meet these people: Professor Waddel of the Greenspun College, Pf. Mcdowell of Law School, Jennifer Reed, Erik Lindlund, Mathew Wright, talk to the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs, The Social Justice Center, Jean Nidetch Women's center, and the Catholic Center.
5)Business Pitch (currently in the hands of robert majors)
6) Our FIve Year Plan is as Follows Presently:
1- UNLV FOOD HUB
2- Expand UNLV FOOD HUB to community
3- Huntridge Food Hub Outlet
4- Earthship Market/ Food Hub
5- Trip to Mondragon Spain (Road Trip)

LVWORCS Branches have been broken down into the following:
(In any order)
Education: Unlv Business Startup, Event Tabling and Merchandise, Movie Nights, Student Group
Campaigns: Food Hub, Huntridge Center, Business COnverting, and a Coop Center on Campus
Outreach: Social Media, phone, flyers advertisements, word-o-mouth
Independent Individuals: Business Leaders, Professors, Teachers, Community members, Volunteers, Farmers, and Govt. Employees
Business Community: Local Businesses, City Govt. Agencies, Non-profits

We have established a meeting routine that will keep everyone on schedule and it starts as follows:
1) Introductions/Welcome new folks
2) Reportback/updates: Present Funds/Financial Report, research updates and finds
3) Collecting Funds/ Agenda/Hw for next meeting

IMPORTANT DATES COMING UP: UNLV fall semester Aug 27th is starting
September is gonna be a kickin month, UNLV Involvement fair for Student groups as well as an economics and human rights festival were tabling and perhaps opening with a film on worker coops which is being handled by the law school.
